Please enter your name on the google sheet if you are able to help on the following public open evenings. Graduate students: please do not sign up to more than ~5 Front of House slots per term to begin with, so we can give everyone a chance to get involved.
Staff are required to help with the set-up in the Hoyle building and host the event - either making the tea/selling postcards (if cloudy), or helping with stargazing (if clear).
- On cloudy evenings, we need TWO volunteers to staff the event
- On clear evenings, we need an additional person ('Backup'). This person will only be needed if the skies are clear; if it's cloudy, you can have a night off :) (Weather updates will go here)
- 'Shadowing' is for anyone who wants to come along and see what running an evening entails, without any set responsibility.
- 'Northumberland' is for someone willing to staff the Northumberland. This will normally be a member of CUAS, or someone otherwise trained on the telescope.
There is a guide to the duties and responsibilities involved in staffing a public open evening; if you have any questions, please just ask Matt Bothwell.
